1 month already!

Today, Jeffrey and I have been married for one whole month! Wow, time has flown by! As we are settling in to our new home and starting our new life together, we have started attending a wonderful, new church called Cross River. We now know what it really means to say, "we're home" when it comes to a church. In two weeks, we will be joining a new community group for married couples. I can't wait!

Tyler is having a blast in the "O2" kids community group and childrens church segment as well. He is changing everyday right before our eyes and becoming such a young man. It seems that others are noticing it as well, and are always complimenting us on his behavior. This weekend was filled with Halloween festivities, starting with the South Alabama Jaguars football game on Saturday. Tyler got to "trunk or treat" with all the Jags tailgaters and meet the players. After that, we watched them defeat Georgia State University 39-34! The Jags continue to be undefeated! Yesterday, after church, he went to the Fallapalooza with the O2 kids at Sunshine skating rink and skated his little heart out before we picked him up for another "trunk or treat" at our friends church. whew! Thank goodness Halloween is over!

Scary to say, but we are looking forward to putting up our first Christmas tree! lol, on that note, I will say goodnight. It is only November 1st, and I'm talking Christmas!!

We're married!

October 1, 2010 was a perfect day! The weather was absolutely beautiful and there was not a cloud in the sky. I said "I Do" to my best friend in front of God and our family and friends. We are so excited to start this next chapter in our lives as husband and wife. : )

We have set up a new blog, since my email address has changed. You can follow us there if you would like. I don't know how you look it up, by name or email address, but here is the info: new email address is christybjordan@gmail.com and the new blog name is The Jordan's.

Thanks...

Mrs. Jeffrey Jordan

Engagement Photos!

This morning was the perfect day to take our engagement pictures downtown at Cathedral Square! It was beautiful and only 68 degrees! My friend Jessika Kirkland took the pictures and so far from what I have seen, she did an amazing job! She took 339 pictures in an hour and a half and here are just a few. All of the good ones will be posted on Facebook by the end of next week! I took this one of my ring, and although it does not do it any justice, it is still beautiful!! The next four weeks are going to fly by, and then I will be Mrs. Jeffrey Jordan! : )

He did an awesome job listening to what I wanted! ; )

our little family!
My favorite picture of all so far!
my 2nd favorite!
Now it is time to get ready for my pre-bridal photo shoot! With the help of one my bridesmaids, Ashley, I will spend the next few hours in my wedding dress. Hey, a girl can never have too many pictures of her taken in one day!! : )

He asked and I said Yes!!!

I AM GETTING MARRIED!! Jeffrey and I are joining our lives together as one on October 1, 2010! Who needs to plan for 6 months to a year, lol, we are doing it in ten weeks. He proposed on Thursday, July 15th and the next day, my mom and I got started planning. We went to Davids Bridal and tried on wedding dresses and found the most perfect dress. Oh I can't wait!!

We decided to have a evening wedding with about 50-75 of our closest friends and family in the beautiful, picturesque, Brookside Chapel. (www.BrooksideChapel.com) Jeffrey's old youth pastor, Jeff Brewer, is driving in from Dothan to perform our ceremony. Originally, we were talking about getting married next summer, so we had already asked Jeff to marry us and he agreed. He was very happy that we moved up the date and thank goodness, was still available! That made us both happy. Since we will not be able to make the pre-marital retreat in Dothan, he has asked us to do all the required activities online and then we will have a conference call to discuss everything we learned. Have I mentioned how excited we are?! : ) We literally can not stop smiling. Oh, how I love this man!!

Soon I will be Mrs. Jeffrey Jordan! : )

I thought that day would never get here, as it has been what seems like the longest semester in history....but thank the good Lord, I'm done. (at least for the next 4 weeks) I will find out if I indeed passed, as I think I did, on the 12th and will start nursing school on June 1st! Wish me luck. : )

Our first Alabama game!!!!

Tyler and I got to experience our first Bama game, (even though it was only A Day game) and we had a blast! We can not wait to go to the games this season. We toured the campus, which was gorgeous, and went shopping and ate downtown! Then we walked into Bryant-Denny Stadium, all decked out in our crimson and white and enjoyed the view. We couldn't ask for a more beautiful day, and the only thing we forgot was the sunscreen. lol! Momma will be better prepared this season, but hey...I could use a little sun, who are we kidding? Right.. : ) I can not wait to go back to Tuscaloosa this Fall!

Update on the babies...

As you can see, Hilliary (left) and Anna (right) and their beautiful baby boys are doing great! They are happy and healthy and love their Aunt Tissy!! Deigan (left) is 2 weeks younger than Douglas. lol, Deigan looks like he may be a month or so older than him! I am so excited that I get to be apart of their lives and watch them grow every day...I love my besties!

Jeffrey's birthday dinner...

Tonight we celebrated Jeffrey's 30th birthday and our parents met for the first time! It was a success and we all enjoyed a wonderful, and filling dinner at Texas Roadhouse!

Earlier in the day, Jeffrey took us to the BLP manufacturing plant where he works, to show us exactly what he does day in and day out. Tyler had made a comment in a conversation a few days ago, that he wanted to be a paint guy like Jeffrey....so he got permission for a little "field trip" today. : ) First, Tyler was issued a pair of safety glasses and then we went on our way. We started out at the beginning, where the gallon cans were being cleaned and prepped then put on the conveyor belt to make its rounds! Then we saw them get filled with paint, the machine place the tops on them and seal them and attach the wire holder to the tops.....all very high tech! We met all of his co-workers and everyone of them asked Tyler if he was ready to start working with "dad" and he smiled and said yes! lol... Upon leaving, Tyler was able to work on the aerosol paint can machine, placing the marbles in the can (did you know there was a marble in each spray can?), then placing the paint in the can, putting the tube in the can and then sending it to the sealer machine to seal it shut and get ready for the tabs and tops to be placed on them and get boxed up. That is a lot of work! lol...he was so excited that he got to do that! It was a great day! Here are some more pix of our wonderful day together....I forgot my camera when we were at the plant. Yeah, I can't believe it either! : ) Maybe next time...

Camping with the boys!

Saturday, after Tyler's baseball game, we headed to Spanish Fort to camp out with the cub scouts! We loaded up Jeffrey's SUV, and (i mean loaded), and set out to sleep under the stars on a civil war battlefield! How exciting! I think, at times, I was more excited than Tyler or Jeffrey...but we all had a great time. We set up our tents and (shh...and our air mattress') and went about our business. The pack went on a hike with the scout leaders for about 2 hours and got to see so much and learn a lot about what happened way back when. When they returned, they set up a bon fire and each scout began to tell everyone about their favorite part of the trip so far. Each family had their own fire ring with a grill plate on it, to cook dinner for their families, so Jeffrey taught Tyler how to roast his own hot dogs! Tyler loved it....great family time! After dinner, it was time for S'mores and yes they were so yummy! On Sunday, the three of us toured the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta that runs along side of the battlefield. It was beautiful! Here is a picture of one of the trees that the soliders dug out to hide in during the war....(Jeffrey is 6'5, to give you an indication of how big the space below the roots of the tree are)So I am having trouble putting the pictures in the correct places, but as you can see...here are a few of them. Enjoy!

Double "D's" Baby!!!

Lol! Several months ago, I blogged about the fact that two of my best friends were pregnant and due within a few days of each other....well now we have babies! March 1, Anna gave birth to Douglas Karrigan Faggard, Jr., and I was the only friend who knew about the secret delivery! Aunt "Tissy" is always there for the baby deliveries! : ) Here is my sweet, sweet new "nephew"...

Then on March 14th, Hilliary gave birth to Deigan Edward Sanders! Deigan is taking up residence in the NICU at the hospital after a very tramatic delivery and then ingesting his miconium and having to be placed on oxygen. He decided to take a break from his feedings too, resulting in a feeding tube having to be placed in his stomach, which means he will have to stay in the NICU for at least a few more days. But, Hilliary and Brian are handling everything very well and we can't wait to get to meet Deigan in person! Here he is.....

I'm totally a baby person, and still awaiting the arrivals of Melissa and Shane's baby boy Taylor in May and Jessica and Cory's twins, Marcus & Mackenzie, in June!! I'm so excited!!

Love to all,

~me

Dinosaurs!!

Tyler had another therapy appointment this morning, which means that once again, he could not go to school.....so, I decided to pick up my student passes to the Explorium and we spent 2 1/2 hours exploring the dinosaurs, the human body, a chemical lab, and all the other cool stuff in the back wing. We had a blast! He made a comment that he wished Jeffrey could go with us, so in good girlfriend fashion...the three of us are going back after school one day next week! Here are some of the pictures.....there is one that actually spits water at you when you walk by, and Tyler got hit by him! : )

I can't wait to go back!!

and we danced.....

Last night, Jeffrey and I attended the Lashe's Mardi Gras Ball and we had the best time! It was his first time going and, well, I am a seasoned vetern.. ha ha! He looked so handsome in his tails!

When I walked into the room, all dressed up, he literally gasped and said "wow"! : ) I wish we would have had someone at the hotel take a picture of us, before the winds got to me and my hair! His mom wanted to see us dressed up, so we high tailed it to West Mobile and she took a few of these pix for us. She then told me, how perfect her son and I are together and gave me her official blessing!

We finally made it back downtown to watch my best friend Ashley in the parade; however, it was too cold for us to stand in, so, we waited inside the Civic Center for almost two hours with another couple in our group until the ball started. They had an 80's cover band from Birmingham playing in the main ballroom, and we danced the night away jamming to old schooll music. I think their name was something like Fly Away River, well I know it had River in it...lol! One of the guitar players looked like Bret Micheals and another one looked like one of the WWE All Stars......but they were awesome.

Finally some pictures...

Friday night date night! We went to see Dear John, and I cried practically the whole time. The movie was so good and I highly recommend that you see it (with a box of tissues). So we finally had some pictures of us taken before we left...here are a few of the good ones!

The race is on...

On Sunday, the 31st, we spent an afternoon watching Tyler and fellow scouts race in the Pinewood Derby. Jeffrey and I had the most fun watching him. Right before Christmas, Tyler's teacher, Mr. Clay called me and asked if he could help Tyler build his race car. As a former scout, he took home the gold every year in the Derby; therefore, I could not say no! Tyler was so excited to get started and stayed after school a few times to work on the car. By the time they were finished, he had a black race car with orange and red flames on it...looks pretty cool! While we were there, we were told that one parent had to accompany their scout to the race line....I was promptly informed that I could take pictures, because he wanted Jeffrey up there with him! Jeffrey was thrilled to be up there and I enjoyed seeing them bond. The first set of races, Tyler had to race against his age group....and he placed 1st and won a medal. After all teh age groups raced and named their 1st place winners, he had to race against those boys and wound up winning the whole derby!!! We were all so excited, and the look on Mr. Clays face was priceless! Here are my boys...
these are the boys in his den that he had to race against to get the medal...Jeff was checking things out... : )
Tyler and his 1st place medal for winning the first half!

Tyler showing off his trophy and medal with Mr. Clay! We are all so proud! Way to go Tyler!! Next up, Tyler will have to defend his title in the county wide race!

Lightening up a bit...

Every January, I always do something to my hair to inspire change....and after months of going back "au natural", I had to have some color again! Jeff's favorite cousin Brandi owns a salon in Mobile called Studio 4. She has an amazing team of stylists that work with her to help "keep Mobile beautiful"! I was so happy when she said that she could get me in this past Tuesday for cut and color. Not only did i get what I wanted, but I got to learn more about her and Jeff...(and the family); which, I am so happy to be apart of these days! Things are definitely going great between us!
Here is what I looked like before....

and here is me after! Ahhh....back to my old self again! :)

Family reunion...

I'm so happy that we all managed to overcome our viruses, so that we could attend the family reunion on Dauphin Island on Saturday. Tyler, bless his heart, came down with a migraine and wound up sleeping for much of the time we were at my grandparents. Shana, Jeff and I had a great time and had a lot of laughs. After being grilled by my dad's older sister Shawn, Jeff received the green light to be with one of her favorite nieces! lol.. He also got blessings from my grandparents, and all of my dads sisters who showed up. It was a great way to introduce him to the family! We are definitely a Saints family, so at 3:30, in good form, we crowded around the tv to watch the Saints kill the other team and move on to round three in the championship series! Top off the night with a whole lot of good food, more laughter and a good ole game of Dixie Dice and it just doesn't get better than that! I can't believe that I didn't get any pictures to post.... : ( Oh well, there is always next time!

Tyler bug is 9!

I swore I would never have another birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese after Tyler turned 5, but with the frigid weather we have been having here, I was left with little choice. Luckily, it was a successful turn out and he had a blast! He was joined by 5 friends, a few of my best friends who could make it, Jeff and myself. Here are some pix of his special day!

Chuck E. Cheese drew a special picture of Tyler and I (great artwork, don't you think?)

Here is Tyler with the man himself....Chuck E!

Tyler getting the "royal treatment" from Chuck! His crown had extra tokens in it for him!! All was a successful and joyful time. I can not believe he is 9 years old now! Time flies when you are having fun!!

There is a guy....

who makes me smile and laugh all day, even when we are apart. He makes me feel safe when his arms are around me and loved when he looks in my eyes and kisses my lips.....who is this wonderful man, you ask? His name is Jeffrey Jordan. My friends were excited to meet him after hearing me talk about him for days, and they could definitely see why I wear this perma-smile on my face! He is a polite, well mannered, hard working, Christian man who loves God and his family. He is 6'4 and towers over me at 5'6 (but I love it!), dark blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes and a smile that lights up the room. Even just telling you about him now, I have a constant smile on!
Usually, my friends and family, take it with a grain of salt when I tell them I have met someone; but, this time it is different. Everyone, including my Meme, is excited to meet him! He has already my my immediate family and will meet Shana and my grandparents this weekend at our family reunion! I can not wait! I, in turn, have met his mother (who I love), and one of his cousins, and will be meeting some more family today.

Jeff and I at Chuck E. Cheese for Tyler's birthday (1-9-10) ** better pix coming soon **
